Abstract:
Present paper is devoted to study wind pressure on tall building. Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model was performed in three-dimensional (3D) commercial packages ANSYS (Fluid Fluent) 19.0. Utilizing finite volume technique to predict the wind pressures on tall building using specific boundary conditions. RNG k-ε turbulence model was used in the program to consider the wind turbulence. Current numerical approach was verified by comparison the pressure results for different velocity with experimental wind tunnel tests. This valid CFD model was applied in the simulation of the wind analysis for Baghdad tower, which is located in Baghdad City, Iraq. It is concluded that wind pressure results for wind tunnel test have a good agreement with the wind pressure results of CFD for different velocity.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 11 - 22, Vol 05 - No. 01, 2020
Abstract:
Experimental tests on five reinforced concrete domes are carried out to investigate its structural behavior. The main aim of this paper is to examine the dome behavior braced with steel channel ring beam .The impact of several parameters including, thickness of steel channel section and thickness of steel horizontal rib. The domes dimensions are kept constant as 600mm, 300mm and 20 mm of diameter, height and thickness respectively. The dome reinforcement was kept constant (welded wire mesh Φ1@15mm),the point load was applied statically at the top of domes. From the experimental results, it can be conclude that the ultimate loads of domes were improved by 72%, 81.3%, 80% and 126.67%for specimens (DRS2, DRRS2, DRS4 and DRRS4) respectively in comparison with reference specimen (NR). The improvement in the performance of domes appeared positively on the reduction in deformations of the domes in addition to increasing the stiffness and ductility of tested domes. The first meridional cracks were appeared at dome bottom in non braced specimen, while the first meridional cracks were appeared at mid-height of the braced specimens.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 31 - 38, Vol 05 - No. 01, 2020
Abstract:
This work paper examines the influence of the use of tablet computers (IPods) as part of the learning process in the Israeli education system. In order to examine the issue from the pupils' point of view, the pupils’ motivation and achievement components were examined through using a questionnaire relating to the integration of tablet computers as part of the E-Learning in the educational institutions. As part of the study, questionnaires were distributed among 120 pupils, in order to examine the actual influence of the examined data on the importance of tablet computers in online teaching. In order to examine the issue, the questionnaire related to both the quantitative and the qualitative aspects. The findings of the study present a situation reportthat show that the tablet computers (IPods), greatly assist to the pupils' motivation and achievement in their perception, and this also derives from the great advantage of the E-Learning regarding their motivation and achievements.

Abstract:
Optimization of environmental process parameters not only increases the efficiency, but also the quality of the process without increasing the cost to a great extent. In the present study, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) were employed to predict the %TPH removal in petroleum polluted soil. The aim is to identify the optimal conditions for TPH removal in petroleum polluted soil remediated with mushroom substrate. In RSM model, two quadratic equations of percentage TPH removal were derived from experimental data. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) was also computed. In ANN model, 80% data were used to train and 20% data were employed for testing. Error analysis conducted shows that RSM has more errors than ANN. The accuracy of the RSM and ANN model was found to be ≤96%. The ANN models exhibit an error of ~6% MAE for testing data. The regression coefficient was found to be greater than 95.0%. However, ANN predicted values have been found to be very close to experimental values compare to RSM predicted values, hence ANN model demonstrated a higher accuracy.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 53 - 58, Vol 05 - No. 01, 2020
Abstract:
Information overload is considered as phenomena to which we are exposed to too much information that is of no use. Such exposure to too much information significantly undermines the process of undertaking effective decision making in an organization. Moreover, it subsequently undermines the quality of decision making in an organization. This research paper critically evaluates the concept of information overload in an organization. Moreover, the analysis will involve the various causes of information overload, the symptoms of information overload, the impacts of information overload and the various strategies that can be deployed in addressing the issues associated with information overload. Additionally, from the analysis recommendations to reduce information overload include having a high level of management control over decision making and employing technology based decision making such as through the use of data mining.
