Title:
Presenting a Sustainable Tire Closed-Loop Supply Chain Model Using Risk Passive Defense Approach

Abstract:
In this paper, we present and solve an integrated robust closed-loop supply chain model for tire industry with passive defense approach using a “whale optimization algorithm” (WOA) and a “non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm” (NSGA-II).A test problem is solved in three groups of small, medium and large sample sizes using WOA. To prove the performance of this algorithm, the model is also solved with NSGA-II algorithm, and the two solution results are compared based on comparison metrics of quality, diversity, uniformity, and computational time.The results show that in all cases, WOA has a higher ability to achieve higher quality and near-optimal solutions than the NSGA-II algorithm. Also, the diversity metric values show that WOA is more powerful in exploring and exploiting feasible solutions. The results of uniformity metric and computational time also show that NSGA-II algorithm has less computational time than WOA and searches the solution space more uniformly.

Biotechnological Applications of Plant Genetic Engineering and Crop Improvement

Abstract:
The first plant biotechnology products are emerging. Much research has focused on agronomic traits for controlling insects, viruses, bacterial and fungal plant diseases, and weeds. Other modifications include developing more nutritious food products, manipulating petal color of flowers. A very promising area of research is the production of specialty oils for detergents, cosmetics, and lubricants and the modification of the lipid. Composition of seed crops to reduce levels of saturated fats.
Examples of modified oils include those with increased levels of laurate and myristate for shampoos and soaps and those that solidify at room temperature without hydrogenation. Partially hydrogenated oils (such as margarine), which are added to many foods, have been shown to be unhealthy. Other types of specialty oils include cooking oil with reduced saturated fat, an oil substitute for cocoa butter in chocolate, oils for cosmetics, and liquid wax for lubricants. Because many oils are obtained from tropical plants, the production of oil substitutes from genetically engineered oilseed crops grown in the United States, primarily rapeseed, soybean, and sunflower, would decrease the dependency on tropical oils. Genetically engineered crop plants are begin-ning to be used for the production of industrially important chemicals and pharmaceutically active compounds.

Comparative Study on Seismic Performance Evaluation between Reinforced Concrete Structures and Post Tensioned Concrete Structures Using Etabs

Abstract:
The buildings are constructed mostly based on the usual standard codes considering the gravity loads consisting of the self weight of the structure and the live load. These structures are experiencing low magnitude loads in their design life that leads only to elastic response, however strong loads such as sudden earthquake will lead the structure beyond the elastic limit. Seismic design is a vital process of structural analysis while designing a building which is subjected to earthquake motions. Thus seismic analysis is a tool to estimate the structural response of the structure while designing earthquake resistant structures or vulnerably existing structures. In present study, seismic performance evaluation is carried out on a G+4 irregular RCC building situated in Kerala (zone lll) according to IS 1893:2002. The structure was modelled in ETABS 2018, Push over analysis and Time history analysis was performed in the same software. The results are then compared with the same building modelled with post tensioned slabs and carried out the same seismic evaluation methods using ETABS.

Title:
Treatment of Bamboo Fibres in Improving Mechanical Properties and Chemical Resistance of Unsaturated Poly Ester Composites

Abstract:
In this study, the bamboo fibers were treated with 0.1M, 0.2M, 0.3M, 0.4M and 0.5M NaOH solutions from 1 day to 5 days to improve the interfacial adhesion between the fibers and unsaturated polyester (UPE). The bamboo fibers reinforced UPE composites were prepared by compression molding at room temperature (RT). Fiber tensile test and Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) analysis indicated that treated bamboo fibers with 0.5M NaOH solution in 5 days had the higher tensile strengh. The effect of bamboo fiber treatment on the mechanical behavior of bamboo fibers reinforced UPE composites was investigated. The results confirmed that treated bamboo fibers/UPE composites had higher tensile and flexural strengh compared with neat UPE and untreated bamboo fibers/UPE composites. Chemical resistance of the composites were carried out in 37 wt.% HCl solution and 65 wt.% HNO3 solution for 1 day, 5 days and 10 days.

Title:
Application of Alcohol Soluble Phenol Formaldehyde Resin for Manufacturing Cut-off Wheel in Vietnam

Abstract:
This study presented the application of alcohol soluble phenol formaldehyde resin – a binder was researched for manufacture cut-off wheel. The abrasion of the cut-off wheel has tested. The results showed that the cut-off wheel has high abrasion resistance as machined with alcohol soluble phenol formaldehyde resin at the time of synthetic resin (60 minutes), the heat press temperature (150oC), the heat press time (50 minutes) and the mass ratio of abrasive particles and resin is 200/25 (g/g). Compared with the cut-off wheel from other resins such as polyimide, unsaturated polyester resin, our product has been the same abrasion resistance, higher heat resistance but cheaper price. Consequently, this resin can be applied to cut shaped iron in mechanical processing.

The Influence of Flow Direction Angle on Kinetic Turbine Performance

Abstract:
Alternative energy sources provide energy wherever it is needed and convert energy from one energy to another without causing pollution that will damage the environment, including water energy. One of the water potentials in Indonesia, especially river water potential, is very much where one of the enormous energy potentials is kinetic energy, which occurs due to flow velocity. From the above problems, it is necessary to think about efforts to improve the performance of the bowl-angle kinetic turbine with variations in the flow direction angle. This study uses experimental research methods and is made on a laboratory scale. The tested kinetic turbine is limited to the flow direction angle with a specific number of blades 8, channel cross-sectional area of 0.26 x (0.1 and 0.12) m3, diameter of turbine shaft 11.5 cm, length and width of blades, namely 13 and 12 cm, the flow direction angle is varied by 10 °, 20 °, and 30 °. From the observations it will be found that the flow direction angle will affect the performance (power and efficiency) of the kinetic turbine.

Abstract:
The advancement of the isolation field is regarded as one of the most important processes and research that occupies all minds of workers in the field of high voltage, as each advancement results in isolators with a higher degree of insulation and a lower cost. Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) is widely used in high and medium voltage cable insulation due to its low dielectric losses and its ability to improve cable properties in high temperatures. This paper aims to improve EPR electrical properties (dielectric strength) for high voltage and medium voltage cables by adding inorganic Nano fillers with different concentrations .Blends of the powder Nano fillers that have been used are Nano Zeolite (Na2Al2Si3O10.2H2O) With particle sizes (0.5, 1, 2.5, and 4 gm.) respectively.
The dielectric strength of the blends was tested at different temperatures ranging from room temperature to 120ºC.
Results were analyzed using the least squareMethod to determine the optimum mixing EPR /Nano zeolite blend which gives the best of electrical properties.
